Taking a quick moment to post some data for those playing this week. Heres a look at the odds and leverage charts for this week.
Odds vs Salary
Justin Thomas comes in with the highest odds of success amongst a weak field. Beneath him is Spieth who is somewhat showing signs of a bad back recently, and then Burns. These 3 plays alone account for over 75% of the expected ownership. On the cheap side, we see Lee Hodges with the most green/leverage. Then plenty of guys in between.
Leverage vs Ownership
This list of names appear to be the ones who are underowned per their odds of success. I have a tough time trusting Brian Harman due to missing so many cuts lately, but he is in play I suppose. I know its not a big course where SG OTT matter so just maybe that helps him.
History (last 5 years)
It seems that Sam Burns has had the most success here from everyone in the field. He has 4 top 20 finishes vs 2 from Justin Thomas in that span. JT has a bit more leverage though, likely for that reason. Another name I may look into is Rory Sabbatini who I havent played all season.
Datagolf Key Skillsets
Per their site, we should focus on approach play and around the green play, in addition to those with the most accuracy in driving the ball. Distance and Putting don't seem to be as important. So names like Chez Revie are in play as a result.
Actual wins vs Expected Wins
Only one name to choose from this week and thats Nick Taylor. The last 2 weeks have had a name here who actually won the tournament. Thish may not be Nick's week, but because hes on the chart I created to help predict guys who could win soon, I'll play him every week until he wins.
