I'm feelin it. Time to reinvest whatever came back in main slate into tonight's showdown.
Expectations vs Salary
Justin Fields is likely the chalk guy tonight, with so much usage lately. Hes not the most expensive play so I fully expect that to stick. If thats the case, I will not put him in my captain spot. Just throwing that out there now.
If I did though, Luke Schoomaker, Lupke or Deuce Vaughn would have to be a part of my entry and I am not quite about that life right now.
Vegas Expectations
The next two prime time games are projecting over the Vegas total for me. Seems that New Orleans is likely to upset the Chiefs, especially without Rice. However we get to that tomorrow. I have Pittsburg going over the implied total. They are the favorites tonight and favorite stacks have been mighty successful in showdown (except the London game this morning).
Snap Counts
I think Brandon Cooks is out but validate that if I'm wrong. That means some WR for Dallas will likely get a boost in snaps. Seems Tolbert gets quite a few already, so maybe they run Schoomaker a bit more if wanting to go deep sea diving. I filtered out those plays with 10 or less snaps last week.
Defense vs Receivers
Dallas passing situation looks terrible but they will throw it anyways because they are the Cowboys. The RB should get most of that work, and it is difficult to say if Dowdle or Elliot gets that work, but I have Rico as RB1. Pittsburg should be able to run with Harris.. but we have seen that before and sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesnt. Pittsburg also has some opportunity with WR2, whom I show as Calvin Austin.
Pittsburg Narratives
Justin Fields has captain leverage. As I started this writeup, despite what the workload shows, I am not playing that in a silver bullet as captain. Najae Harris also has captain leverage but still quite high on ownership. I think I will potentially give that a whirl though if I can find a way to fade Fields, that is what I am interested in doing. Najae + Freiermuth + Boswell + 1 somewhere might make sense from a defensive standpoint against Dallas.
I could also see a case where we play 2 Pitt plays (1 captain, 1
Dallas Narratives
Ceedee price is a bit much for me to say I'd play him at captain but between him and CMC, they have usually bit me when saying that, so I will say if I play 5 entries, maybe 1 would be Ceedee captain as insurance. Dak at 5% projected captain ownership is interesting because, as stated, he will throw the ball when he shouldnt and then get lucky or garbage time points. Ferguson or Dowdle are OK as well as potential captain plays. If we think the Cowboys keep it close, maybe 4 cowboys can be stuffed into the lineup, only because of the number of guys who are overdue some points (Ferguson, Dowdle, Elliot, Schoomaker).
